Peer Organizations


Our society has established peer relationship with other family History and genealogy societies in Colorado, as well as elsewhere in the United States and the British Isles. These relationships, either formal or informal, serve to establish our society’s footprint within those communities and support our mission, “…to promote interest and education in genealogy and family history as they pertain to the British Isles.”

Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies (CCGS)


Our society is a member of the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies (CCGS). The CCGS was established in 1980 as a non-profit organization to facilitate cooperation among heritage-related organizations. In 1998, the Council proudly served as the host for the National Genealogical Society’s Conference in the States. National Genealogical Society (NGS)


Our society is an associate member of the National Genealogical Society (NGS). NGS is more than a century old! The National Genealogical Society was organized in Washington, DC, in 1903. Their mission To serve and grow the genealogical community by providing education and training, fostering increased quality and standards, and promoting access to and preservation of genealogical records. Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS)


Our society is an associate member of the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS). The FGS was founded in 1976 and represents the members of hundreds of genealogical societies across the United States and in other nations. Federation of Family History Societies


Our society is an associate member of the Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS). The FFHS is an educational charity with over 180 member societies throughout the world. Using their website, social media and other means of communication, they ensure that family history news, book reviews and guidance on how to learn more about the subject are readily available to member societies and to the general public. The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO)


Our society is a member of The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO). Founded in 1994, the BIFHSGO is located in Ontario, Canada. Ulster Historical Foundation


Our society has a peer relationship with the Ulster Historical Foundation (UHF). The Ulster Historical Foundation was founded in 1956. Their aim is to encourage an interest in the history of the province of Ulster; promote a positive image of Northern Ireland overseas; strengthen the links between Ireland and those of Ulster descent; broaden access to historical documents and records for Irish and Scots-Irish genealogy; and to inspire pride in Irish and Ulster heritage and culture.
